St. Melito of Sardis

Checked out what Saint I am. Rather odd thing to do but the result is
You’re St. Melito of Sardis!
You have a great love of history and liturgy. You’re attached to the traditions of the ancients, yet you recognize that the old world — great as it was — is passing away. You are loyal to the customs of your family, though you do not hesitate to call family members to account for their sins.
I posted this to my blog mainly because I wanted to check out St. Melito of Sardis and knew I'd never remember the name because it's a totally new one to me. I wouldn't say I had a great love of history but I did go to my nursing ball with a history major and later I married one so maybe that's close enough to loving history. After that I suppose the rest is true although I'm more inclined to use the term "wild ass" than "sinner".

Next Generation PC Design
Check out the 2007-08 Next Gen PC design showcase. I can get excited about any design website - weddings, architecture, interiors, clothing, logos, crafts, etc. but potential improvements in personal computer design are absolutely amazing.

Pre-Retirement Planning

The Diocese contacted all the clergy within 10 years of retirement and their spouses for a pre-retirement seminar. As the kids are getting into buying their first homes, I felt up-to-date on the how to buy your first home stuff although I'm sure it is more fun house hunting at the beginning of adult life than arranging a closing date to coincide with the date one has to be out of the rectory. Stephen and I can't agree on a piece of art or a tv show or what constitutes a vacation and I've yet to win any of those debates. He'll want something extremely old and huge that will accommodate at least 30 relatives for a week and very close to a hospital emergency dept. I want to move to the house I grew up in which probably isn't large enough for our books. I don't want to be rushed off to emergency - I want to wander off by myself and be found dead beside the river like my grandmother's dog.

Re: Wedding

Life has pretty much been revolving around wedding festivities. Soon there will be a website dedicated to the wedding pictures. My youngest son John and Danielle had a beautiful wedding and I wish them every blessing in their marriage journey. There were way too many things to describe so I'll just wait and post the web address so you can see for yourself what a great time we all had.
